Our highly anticipated Twilight Nights transformed Wallace Park into an illuminated wonderland this week. Two spectacular evenings (Wed 22 Oct and Thurs 23 Oct) of light, music, and community spirit drew thousands of revellers - many in fantastic Halloween costumes - who brought an electric energy despite the crisp October weather.
A Calming Alternative: The Relaxed Twilight Night
The Wednesday Relaxed Twilight Night proved a success, offering a welcome, calming alternative to high-octane Halloween events. Guests enjoyed the illuminated trails at their own pace, greeted by friendly characters, while soft, gentle music filled the night air.
Families captured fun, festive memories at activities like the silent disco, designed to be enjoyed without sensory overload. A dedicated Sensory Bus also served as a much-needed quiet space, offering a genuinely inclusive and stress-free evening for all.
Laser Lights and Lanterns: The Main Night Spectacle
The main Twilight Night on Thursday was pure energy and community pride, bringing the two-night festival to a thrilling peak. It began with hundreds of brilliant, handcrafted lanterns - made by local schools and community groups - parading through the city centre. They painted the night sky, moving to the distinctive rhythms of renowned drummers, SPARK!.
Inside Wallace Park, the illuminated trail was a dazzling mix of light installations, street theatre and live performances. The adventure ended with a much-anticipated grand finale: a spectacular display of fireworks and dynamic laser light show that lit up the Lisburn skyline.
Councillor Tim Mitchell, Chair of Communities and Wellbeing Committee, reflected on the event’s success: “Twilight Night was absolutely outstanding. Seeing our community wrap up and come out in those numbers, despite the cool October weather, was brilliant. The lantern parade created such a fantastic atmosphere right through the city centre, and the sheer effort people put into their amazing Halloween costumes was just incredible to see!
“Successfully running two fantastic and genuinely inclusive nights, including the accessible Relaxed Twilight Night, really shows why this event is a firm family favourite. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it such a memorable experience for all who attended and to our community participants, schools, creative performers, vendors and our dedicated council teams for their role in producing this safe and successful community event.”
We are proud to confirm that a portion of all ticket sales will be donated to the Mayor's chosen charity, Action Cancer, contributing vital funds to support their services across Northern Ireland.
