Take a musical journey through North and South America, and enjoy a diverse range of music and styles. The effervescent Latin rhythms of Marquez's exuberant Danzon No.2 and the dynamic Hoe Down from Copland's Rodeo, contrast with Barber's famous Adagio for Strings and Dvorak's ever popular ‘New World’ symphony, inspired by his experiences and observations during his time in the United States. Lots of well known repertoire to enjoy in this journey across two continents!

Conductor: David Openshaw MBE
Leader: Zuzanna Edmonds

Programme:

Copland - Fanfare for the Common Man
Marquez - Danzon No.2
Barber - Adagio for Strings
Sousa - The Liberty Bell
Piazzolla - Libertango
Copland - Hoe Down from Rodeo
Gershwin - Walking the Dog
Dvorak - Symphony No.9 ‘New World’
